Smile Train donor and supporter

 

General Colin Powell was a longtime donor and supporter of the Smile Train.

I met him a few times but really got to know when he came to Lincoln Center for Smile Train 10 year anniversary and celebration of 500,000 smiles. He was extremely intelligent, polite, gracious and friendly. Boy, I wish he would run for President of the United States because he would make a great one.

General Powell and his wife came all the way up from Washington DC for our celebration. And he brought the house down with the best speech anyone gave that night.

He said, “I could have used one hundred Smile Trains when I was Secretary of State.”
