Pakistan has a huge number of children suffering with unrepaired clefts. Dr. Fayez and his colleagues are doing their best to help these children and they operate on tens of thousands of them a year.

Unlike many plastic surgeons in developing countries that abandon their home countries once they get their medical degrees, Dr. Fayez decided to stay in Pakistan and he has made quite a big impact in that country.

Not only has he performed personally tens of thousands of cleft surgeries for poor children who could never afford, he has pioneered many of the best surgical techniques and innovative treatments for cleft patients.

He is a frequent speaker and presenter at major cleft symposiums and medical conferences around the world. In addition he often goes on medical missions and perform surgery and other countries.

He is one of the best partners Smile Train has ever had. We believed in him so much we helped him build a new operating theater. And I eve sent my dad on a partner trip to meet with Dr. Fayez and all of our great Pakistani cleft partners.

I was really glad I get to meet him several times when I was running Smile Train. He has a terrific sense of humor, a great big smile and a fierce dedication and commitment to helping the children of Pakistan.
